// TERMS OF USE

Terms of Use

These are the rules for using neuraltactic.com. The game has its own agreement — see the End User Licence Agreement.

Version 1.0 Effective 3 September 2026 Applies to neuraltactic.com

// The short version

This box is a plain summary to help you find your way around. It is not part of the agreement — if it and the text below ever disagree, the text below is what counts.

  • This is a small studio's website. Read it, link to it, quote it.
  • The press kit is yours to use for coverage of our games — that is what it is for.
  • Don't attack the site, scrape it into a wall, or pretend to be us.
  • Email us and a person reads it. If you send us an idea, we may end up using something like it, and we will not owe you for it.
  • Nothing here removes rights your local consumer law gives you. In Australia, that means the Australian Consumer Law.

1. Who we are

Neural Tactic is an independent game studio based in Australia. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Neural Tactic, and "you" means the person using this website. "The website" means neuraltactic.com and every page on it.

You can reach us at hello@neuraltactic.com. That address goes to a person, not a ticket queue.

2. Agreeing to these terms

By using the website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the website. That is the whole mechanism — there is no account to create and no box to tick.

These terms cover the website only. Two other documents cover other things, and all three are meant to be read together without contradicting each other:

  • the End User Licence Agreement covers the game itself, once you install it; and
  • the Privacy Policy covers personal information, on the website and in the game.

3. What this website is, and what it is not

The website exists to describe our studio and our games, to host a press kit, and to publish these documents. It does not sell anything, it does not take payments, and it has no login, no account and no shopping basket.

Some of what you read here describes a game that is still being made. Release dates, prices, platforms, features and content can all change, and some of them certainly will. Nothing on this website is an offer, a promise to ship, or a commitment to release anything on any particular date.

The game simulates cyber security for entertainment and general education. Neither the game nor this website is professional security advice, and neither should be relied on to protect a real organisation. If you have a real security problem, get real advice from someone who can see your actual systems.

4. Using the website

You may read the website, link to any page on it, and quote from it with credit.

You must not:

  • attack it — including denial-of-service attempts, vulnerability scanning without our written permission, or trying to get into any part of our systems that is not published to the public;
  • use automated tools to place a load on it that is unreasonable compared to a person reading it;
  • copy the whole site, or a substantial part of it, and republish it as though it were your own;
  • use it in a way that impersonates Neural Tactic, or that suggests we endorse you, your product or your views when we do not; or
  • use it to do anything illegal, or to help anyone else do anything illegal.

If you think you have found a security problem in this website or in our other systems, we would genuinely like to hear about it — write to hello@neuraltactic.com. Please give us a reasonable chance to fix it before telling anyone else. We will not pursue you for a good-faith report made without accessing anyone else's data and without disrupting the service.

5. Our content, and what you may do with it

Everything on this website — the words, the screenshots, the artwork, the layout, the logos and the code — belongs to us or to whoever licensed it to us. We keep all rights that we have not given away in these terms.

Two exceptions are deliberate and are set out where they apply:

  1. the press kit (section 6), which we have published so that people can use it; and
  2. the two typefaces this site uses, Inter and IBM Plex Mono, which are not ours. They are used under the SIL Open Font Licence 1.1, and the licence text ships beside the font files.

You may make a personal copy of a page for your own reference, and you may quote a reasonable extract in a review, article, essay or discussion so long as you say where it came from. Anything more, ask us — the answer is usually yes.

6. The press kit

The press kit exists so that journalists, streamers, reviewers, educators and other writers can cover our games without asking permission first.

You may use the text, screenshots and logos published on that page — unmodified, other than resizing and cropping — to report on, review, discuss or teach about Neural Tactic and its games, in any medium, including monetised videos and articles. You do not need to pay us and you do not need to ask.

That permission does not extend to:

  • using our artwork or logos on merchandise, or on or in another product or service;
  • altering the logos, or using them in a way that suggests we sponsor, endorse or are affiliated with you;
  • presenting our screenshots as though they were from someone else's game, or as though they showed something they do not; or
  • using the material in a way that is unlawful, or that defames anyone.

We can withdraw this permission from a particular person or organisation if it is being misused. If we do, we will tell you, and you have a reasonable period to take the material down.

7. Names and logos

"Neural Tactic", "CISO: Cyber Defense Extraordinaire", the Neural Tactic shield logomark and the game's app icon are our marks, whether or not they are registered. Section 6 is the only permission we give to use them.

Other names that appear on this website or in the game — companies, products, standards, frameworks and trade marks belonging to other people — are used descriptively, to refer to the real thing. Their owners own them, and their appearance is not a claim of affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement in either direction.

8. Links to other websites

Where we link out, we are pointing at something we thought was worth reading. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for what they contain or do, and a link is not an endorsement of everything the other site says. Their terms and their privacy practices are theirs, not ours.

9. Writing to us, and ideas you send

When you email us, we keep your message and your email address so that we can reply, so that we can follow up later, and — for job enquiries — so that we can come back to you when a role opens. We do not sell it, share it or add you to a mailing list. Ask us to delete it and we will. The Privacy Policy covers this in full.

Ideas and suggestions. We are glad to receive them, but please understand what happens to them. Games get made by many people thinking about the same problems, and we may already be working on something similar, or may arrive at it independently later. So: if you send us an idea, a suggestion, a feature request, a design, a bug report or any other feedback, you agree that we may use it, adapt it and build on it, anywhere in our products, for free, without crediting you and without owing you anything for it. You keep whatever rights you have in what you sent; you are giving us permission to use it, not handing it over.

You should not send us anything confidential, and nothing you send creates a confidential relationship between us. If you have something you need to keep confidential, ask us first and we will tell you honestly whether we can accept it.

Please do not send us anything you do not have the right to send — someone else's code, someone else's art, or material from an employer that you are not free to share.

10. Availability, accuracy and warranties

We try to keep the website up, correct and current, and we will fix mistakes when we find them or when someone points them out. But it is a small studio's website and we cannot promise that it will always be available, that it will be free of errors, or that everything on it is up to date at the moment you read it.

Except for anything we have expressly promised in these terms, and subject to section 11, the website is provided as it is and as it is available, without warranties of any kind.

11. Our liability

Rights that cannot be excluded come first. Some laws give you rights and guarantees that a document like this cannot take away, limit or change. In Australia, the Australian Consumer Law does exactly that; other countries have their own equivalents. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any of those rights. Where a law says a guarantee applies and cannot be excluded, it applies, and the rest of this section is read as being subject to it.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
  • anything else that the law does not allow us to limit.

Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or lost opportunity arising out of your use of this website, and our total liability arising out of the website is limited to AUD $100.

This website is free to use and we make no money from it, which is the context for that figure. The game has its own limitation of liability in the End User Licence Agreement, and that one applies to the game.

12. Privacy

This website sets no cookies, runs no scripts, loads nothing from anyone else's servers, and carries no analytics or tracking of any kind. The fonts, images and stylesheets all come from this site. The only personal information involved is what you choose to put in an email to us.

The Privacy Policy is the full account, and it covers the game as well as the website.

13. Changes

We may change the website at any time — add pages, rewrite them, or take them down.

We may also change these terms. When we do, we will change the version number and the effective date at the top, and record what changed in section 16. Your continued use of the website after the new version takes effect means you accept it. If you do not, stop using the website. We do not apply changes retrospectively.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about them.

If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live, and it does not stop you bringing a claim in the courts of that country where the law gives you that right.

Before anyone goes to court, please email us. Nearly everything is faster to fix that way, and we would rather fix it.

If a court decides that any part of these terms cannot be enforced, that part is treated as removed and the rest keeps working.
